Charity Shop

There are bargains to be got
At the charity shop.
A fine china bowl,
A glass girandole.

Check out the clothes rail
For a blouse pink and pale
Is it your size or mine?
If you want it that’s fine.

In the jewellery case
Strings of pearls to embrace
Any neck, plump or thin.
Softly glow next the skin.

There are books of all kinds
Satisfying the minds
Of those interested in crime,
Love, adventure or rhyme.

An umbrella is lost ?
At a fraction of cost,
Buy a another. Why not?
Choose a bright polka dot!

The assistants are nice.
You can ask for advice,
And they’ll kindly comply
With your wishes to try,

Any skirt, coat or dress.
They may even express
An opinion or two
On those clothes best for you.

So come in, don’t be shy,
Buy your husband a tie.
Have a coffee or tea,
You might even meet me!
